As one of the largest and best-known online casinos in Europe, Mr Green has worked hard over the past decade establishing its reputation and growing its game collection. It is best known for the exceptional array of online slots and table games on offer, numbering somewhere over 400. Not only that, but the software developers involved (PlayTech, Microgaming, NetEnt) are the very best in the business, showing that these guys aren’t messing around.

It’s not the perfect casino (as you’ll read further down) but what it does well, it does better than anyone else in the business. Mr Green has the potential to be the best online casino of its time – check it out and see if you think it’s already there!

Games and Software

This is where Mr Green has made their name. They have over 400 different games available, but it’s the quality of the selection that is particularly impressive; Mr Green has roped in all the big names in casino software development: Playtech, Microgaming, NetEnt and Betsoft are just some of them.

Video Slots

The majority of games are slots, as you’d expect. If you’re looking for big-hitting progressives, Mr Green has all the best ones. Mega Moolah is there (famed for its record £13.2 million jackpot) from Microgaming, as well as Mega Fortune and Hall of Gods from NetEnt, all of which have an average jackpot of several million.

For games where you can bet the maximum and hope to hit it big – and a trusty casino you can count on to pay you promptly – then Mr Green is a good place to be.

Non-progressive slots make up the majority, with popular titles like Starburst and Jack Hammer just two among hundreds of quality games.

Free Games

Not sure where to start? Mr Green offers virtually all of its games (but not progressives) as free demos. Assign coin values, choose your paylines, spin the reels and take the “profits” and “losses” – all without investing a penny of your own money!

Demos are a great way to test the waters before committing to a game financially, but few casinos offer as many games for free as Mr Green. Good job. #

Live Casino

Everyone uses Evolution Gaming to power their live casino, but Mr Green has gone a step further and also hired a company called Extreme Live Gaming to provide a bigger, better live casino experience for its players.

The new levels of immersion offered here blow Mr Green’s rivals out of the water. It’s very promising stuff, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for their live casino platform.

Mobile

The Mr Green website is fully optimised for mobile devices and tablets, so you should be able to play all your favourite games on all your favourite devices, hassle-free. It’s all in-browser so you won’t have to spend time downloading apps and taking up space on your phone.

Customer Support

This part is a bit disappointing. Actually, compared to most of its main rivals, the effort they’ve made on customer support is pretty embarrassing. There’s a single international phone number and a single email address you can contact with an enquiry; Mr Green says they “hope to reply to any emails within 24 hours” – not ideal when you’re in a hurry.

Most major online casinos have 24-7 online chat (instant messaging) as well as region-specific phone lines and a contact form, so it’s not reassuring to see so few options from Mr Green. Their contact us page is also a bit tricky to find – we had to Google it! The staff are very friendly, but often lack critical knowledge and so aren’t as efficient as other casinos at resolving issues.

Banking

Withdrawing cash from Mr Green is painless (after the first one) and is faster than many of its competitors. Casino processing is promised to be less than 17 hours and, if you withdraw by e-wallet, it should then be put instantly into your account. For bank transfers, expect to wait around 3-5 days as you will with any other online casino.

There’s some controversy around depositing at Mr Green and it’s easy to see why: a 2.5% charge on all deposits by card which, in this age of online gaming, is a bit of a joke. It does encourage using e-wallets (which benefits everyone) but charging people to put money into your casino, before making a single wager, is a but underhand. They also don’t advertise this fee well at all – you just learn by doing.

Conclusion

Mr Green is a casino with all the potential in the world, but it stumbles over a couple of hurdles that could really damage its reputation in the community. Charges on deposits have to go, and the customer service (while friendly) needs an expansion. The slick website design and unfailing commitment to game selection means Mr Green will automatically jump to the very top of the list.

It’s a good casino, but only time will tell if they are willing to take the plunge and become a brilliant one.
